Sponsored by Berwins Solicitors, Salon offers TED-style talks designed to change your life for the better. Presenting big ideas, and answering key questions in life, Salon was voted as number six in the ‘Top 100 Things to do in the World’ by GQ magazine.
In April, we’ll explore revolutionary women in history, how they have paved the way for empowered women of the 21st Century and what we can do today to avoid being side-tracked by culturally learned behaviours.
– We’ll hear from Anne Dickson about art of assertiveness and the ‘Compassion Trap’ of being governed by a desire to please.
– Kate Fox will take us on an eye-opening journey through the lives of extraordinary northern women, from rebels to writers to astronauts, whose lives and achievements have too long been hidden.
– Nan Sloane will shine a spotlight on forgotten female heroes of history, many of whom played a part in developing political ideas and freedoms as we know them today.
As ever, our trio of speakers is expertly bound together and hosted by the fabulous Helen Bagnall.
Tickets are £16, student/JSA £11.20. A £1.75 booking fee also applies.
