Berwins Salon North evenings are relaxed and fun evenings, that often send you away with something to muse over.

The Crown Hotel in Harrogate (Thursday, 26 July 2018) will see four expert speakers for three talks on the theme of ‘Celebrate’.  Kicking off the evening will be Rick Edwards and Dr Dr. Michael Brooks who have co-authored Science(ish), The Sunday Times book of the year.

The lineup for the evening:

The science behind iconic films

  • TV presenter, award-winning journalist, screenwriter and irrepressible commentator Rick Edwards
  • Editor-at-Large of the New Scientist, Dr. Michael Brooks

Delving into how movie soundtracks come about and what makes them work so well

  • Executive Producer at Classic FM, Jennifer Nelson celebrates

Sharing the secrets of the studio, including the tricks used to produce your favourite tracks

  • UK’s leading academic in the field of music production, Dr Simon Zagorski-Thomas.

Martin Whincup from Berwins said:

Berwins Salon North has fast become one of the hottest tickets in town. Packed with innovative and stimulating ideas, it’s certainly no ordinary night out and one which Berwins is proud to be associated with.

The July event is no exception. With insight into the science behind iconic films, the way a film score can transform the cinema going experience and the ticks behind music production – there promises to be plenty of entertaining material.

Add a stellar array of speakers including award winning TV presenter Rick Edwards; Editor at Large of the New Scientist, Michael Brooks and Classic FM’s Jennifer Nelson and you have all the ingredients of a fantastic evening which I’m particularly excited about.

Having such a mix of thought provoking topics and inspirational speakers from television, radio, and academia together in Harrogate for one evening is definitely something worth celebrating.
