The Hampsthwaite Action Group which for the past twelve months has been fighting multiple housing developments in their Nidderdale village are hosting a special fundraising event in September with renowned and much respected Record Producer and Engineer, Ken Scott in conversation with the Harrogate Advertiser’s Graham Chalmers.
Ken, who is himself a Hampsthwaite resident has contributed to over ¼ billion music recordings over the past 5 decades working with musicians such as The Beatles, David Bowie, Elton John, Jeff Beck, Lou Reed and Duran Duran to name but a few.
The special event on Friday, September 7th will be an opportunity to hear Ken in conversation with the Harrogate Advertiser’s Graham Chalmers talking about his long and successful career in the recording industry in London, Los Angeles and Nashville and specifically about his work on albums such as The Beatles’ White Album, David Bowie’s Hunky Dory and Elton John’s Honky Chateau.
In addition to an auction of some unique and special music memorabilia items donated by Ken, the evening will end with the ‘Audience Choice’- an authentic audio and listening experience of one of Ken’s recordings selected by the audience on the night and to be played on vintage HiFi equipment courtesy of Harrogate’s ‘Vinyl Sessions’.
This promises to be a fantastic and special evening for all those who love the music of the 60’s, 70’and 80’s.
