Harrogate Operatic Players show their true colours for children’s hospice

24 May 2016

This July, Martin House Hospice Care for Children and Young People is inviting supporters to get colourful to raise vital funds for families across the region.

Harrogate Operatic Players are among dozens of local groups and families who have already signed up to be part of this year’s fun, and have been busy fundraising alongside a gruelling rehearsal schedule for their anticipated summer production of Annie.

Martin House’s Colour Run takes place at Stockeld Park, Wetherby, on Sunday 17th July and this year the hospice is encouraging participants to maximise their sponsorship and help raise smash the £24,000 raised at last year’s event.

Melanie James, Marketing Manager for Harrogate Operatic Players said:

We have a big group looking forward to taking part in this year’s Colour Run and hope that members of the Harrogate community will join us in supporting this worthy cause. Martin House needs more than £5.5 million each year to provide its services, so getting involved in July’s event is not only a fun day out for the group after months of hard work, it’s a great chance to raise funds for families across the Harrogate district and beyond.

The Colour Run is once again sponsored by longstanding supporters HARIBO, with SEO agency, Branded 3, already signed up to manage one of the many paint stations on the course. Likeminded businesses are encouraged to join the action in sponsoring a paint station in their corporate colours.

Julie Beaman, Communications Manager at HARIBO said:

We are delighted to sponsor the Colour Run again this year. It is a brilliantly fun event that will no doubt be a huge hit with local families. We wish Martin House all the best with reaching their fundraising target.

Family tickets (2 adults, 2 children) are available at only £50 each, whilst group discounts are available for five or more adults at £15 each. Under 5s go free. Eager participants can sign up toady online at www.martinhouse.org.uk or contact the events team on 01937 844569 or events@martinhouse.org.uk
