Transfer news from Harrogate Town

11 November 2014

The last few days have seen some intense transfer activity taking place at Harrogate Town AFC.

Leaving permanently and returning back to former club North Ferriby United is striker Ryan Kendall.

Ryan joined Harrogate Town for a second time at the beginning of the season from Ferriby, but an injury in his first game against Tamworth kept him out of the game for a few weeks and on his return he found it hard to break back into the side.

Speaking about Ryan’s departure, manager Simon Weaver said: I’d like to wish Ryan all the best. He’s a good lad off the pitch but it didn’t quite work out for him here on it. I’m sure he’ll be eager to get back amongst the goals.

Ryan leaves the club having made 9 appearances and 0 goals scored.

Also joining neighbours Guiseley AFC on loan until the New Year is defender Shane Killock.

Shane has played over 90 times for the club so far.

Simon Weaver said: Shane is a great lad who wants to be playing games and Guiseley rang up and asked to take him on loan. It would’ve been wrong to not mention the phone call to him and I said it would do him good to be playing regularly so we both agreed on the 2 month loan.

Joining the club is former Leeds United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Tranmere Rovers winger Sebastien Carole.

Sebastien, 32, started his career in his native county of France with Monaco B, although he did play sporadically for the main team. A short lived loan move to West Ham United occurred before he returned to France.

Determined to have another go in England, Sebastien signed for Brighton & Hove Albion in 2005 and went on to make over 40 appearances.

Leeds United signed Sebastien in 2006 and in a two season stay with the Mighty Whites, he played over 52 games and scored 3 times.

After being released by mutual consent, he signed a short term deal with Darlington, where he made 7 appearances before leaving in January 2009.

Returning back to Brighton, Sebastien played another 12 games before joining Tranmere Rovers on another short stay contract.

Following his stay at Prenton Park, Seb hooked up with Brighton for a third time before leaving during the 2010-2011 pre-season.

A short stay occurred back in France before coming back to Harrogate and playing for local sides Burton Leonard and Knaresborough Town.

After impressing former Leeds manager Kevin Blackwell, Seb joined Bury and played a handful of games before being released.

Guiseley AFC would become Seb’s next club in 2013 and he made quite the debut, scoring and setting up an assist in their 2-1 win over Gainsborough Trinity. Again, however he was allowed to leave at the end of the season and went back to Knaresborough Town.

Finally joining the club yesterday, before the Gloucester City game is central defender Luke Shiels.

Luke, 25, joins us from Worksop Town and has previously played for Hucknall Town.

Described as a strong, athletic player. Six foot three inch Luke will be looking to make an immediate impact and is available for selection for the Hyde FC match.
