Body found in River Ouse at Skeldergate Bridge in York

North Yorkshire Police were called at around 11.05am on Thursday 17 April 2014 after a man’s body was found in the River Ouse at Skeldergate Bridge in York.

The identity of the body, which has now been recovered from the river, is unknown at this time.
The family of missing York soldier Tyler Pearson have been informed of the discovery.
Skeldergate Bridge was closed to pedestrians for a short time while the body was recovered from the water.
