Wanted man, James Allen arrested in Leeds

James Allen has been arrested in Leeds this morning and is currently in custody.

Cleveland Police and North Yorkshire Police were urgently seeking the whereabouts of Mr Allen in connection with two murders in Middlesbrough and Whitby.

Following recent local sightings and CCTV footage, investigations then focussed on the Harehills area of Leeds.

Assistant Chief Constable Mark Milsom of West Yorkshire Police said:

An off duty officer travelling to work this morning (29/04) saw a man fitting the description of James Allen on Crown Point Road in Leeds.

They called for colleagues in support who arrived quickly and an arrest was made. We would like to thank all members of the community who have been contacting us to assist in this matter.
