Harrogate foodie to pick the cream of the Yorkshire food industry

19 October 2011

Harrogate’s resident food whizz, Steph Moon, has been called up to judge the prestigious deliciouslyorkshire awards which are announced at Harrogate’s Rudding Park on 14 November.

With experience working in award-winning restaurants throughout the world, the executive chef at Rudding Park and former deliciouslyorkshire awards champion is putting her expertise to the test to select the best food businesses from across the region.

The seventh annual deliciouslyorkshire awards, supported for the first time by headline sponsor Tesco, celebrate the elite of the region’s food and drink industry and applaud the exceptional achievements businesses have made throughout the year. Steph joins a panel of 20 independent judges who are selecting the winners of 20 categories based on taste, texture, aroma and appearance.

Cath Clelland, chair of deliciouslyorkshire, said:

We have a fantastic line-up of a high profile judges this year. These food and drink experts really know their onions, however with such a high standard of entrants this year it will be a real challenge for the judges to pick the cream of the crop.

The awards are a quality mark for first-class food and this is reflected in the exceptional expertise of our judges. I would like to thank the entire panel for helping to make this year’s awards a success and I look forward to celebrating the fruits of their labour on the awards night.
