Glow to Continue at RHS Harlow Carr Gardens – end of November to early January

11 November 2020

Following Government advice, the RHS is pleased to confirm that it will be able to keep its Gardens open late and continue to run Glow outdoor illuminations trails at RHS Gardens Wisley, Harlow Carr, Hyde Hall and Rosemoor.

Liz Thwaite, Head of Site, said:

We are delighted that the Government has recognised the importance of gardens and outdoor space for mental and physical health, and we are very glad that the RHS Gardens can be a sanctuary for people during this time.

Hosting Glow and extending opening hours so that the illuminations can be enjoyed in full means that people will be able to walk round the Gardens after work or school and enjoy the sight of nature lit up with beautiful displays.

Of course the safety and wellbeing of all our staff and visitors remains paramount as we continue to navigate life with Covid-19 and we have safety measures in place following government guidelines to ensure this is the case.

Tickets for Glow at all RHS Gardens must be booked online in advance. All walking routes are fully accessible. For further information, visit: https://www.rhs.org.uk/gardens/articles/glow-illuminations

RHS Gardens are open for pre-booked visits during the day as we know what a vital safe sanctuary they offer for mental and physical health. Additional safety measures are in place at all gardens, including social distancing, enhanced cleaning and limits on visitor volumes.  Indoor areas such as the Glasshouse at Wisley are now closed.

RHS garden centres also remain open during this lockdown period to ensure that people can continue to garden and grow plants, indoors and outdoors. Indoor catering facilities are closed, but mobile and takeaway options are available at all gardens, including for Glow.
