The British Transport Police have confirmed that a person has died following an incident on the railway line between Harrogate and Leeds, near Weeton.
A BTP spokesperson said:
British Transport Police were called at 3.02pm on 10/08 to an area of railway in Weeton following a report of a casualty on the tracks.
Officers attended, but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
