Search for missing York man – body found in River Ouse

Officers searching for missing man, Nick Gunnell, have recovered a body from the River Ouse. Although the man has not been formally identified, Mr Gunnell’s family have been informed.

Officers were alerted by kayakers on the river between Scarborough Bridge and Clifton Bridge on the afternoon on Sunday 5 July 2020.

A post-mortem and formal identification will now be carried out and a report prepared for the coroner.
