York cyclist dies after collision with parked car

On Sunday 7 April 2019, at 7.15pm, police were called to a report of a collision on Holgate Road, York, involving a cyclist and a parked car.

The cyclist, a York man, aged 51, was treated at the scene for serious head injuries. He was taken by ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary, where hewas in a critical condition.

The man subsequently died during Monday afternoon (8 April 2019).

Following the collision, the road was closed for a number of hours to allow police to examine the scene.

North Yorkshire Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the cyclist involved. He was riding a yellow cycle, and wearing a grey sports top, blue cargo trousers and a khaki baseball cap.
