20 March 2019

Harrogate Town failed to score for the first time in eighteen matches, as they went down 1-0 at Barnet.

Warren Burrell had an early chance for Town, but he headed wide from a George Thomson corner, but it was Barnet who began to dominate proceedings.

Playing some attractive football they forced Town on to the backfoot.

Elliot Johnson fired over Town’s bar and Burrell managed to block an header on the line.

The decisive goal arrived on the half hour as Ephron Mason-Clark got behind the Town defence and pulled the ball back for Tarpey to shoot past James Belshaw.

Town hit back with Kelvin Langmead heading at home keeper Cousins and Burrell testing the custodian with a free kick.

Barnet had chances to stretch their lead with Wesley Fonguck having a goalbound shot deflected for a corner and Shaquile Coulthirst heading wide when well placed.

Joe Leesley replaced Jack Emmett as the visitors looked for an equaliser, but despite late Town pressure,Barnet held firm.
