The Country Living St George Hotel in Harrogate has been awarded four-star accreditation from Visit England, which confirms its new status as one of the leading hotels in the town and officially recognises it as a hotel of the highest calibre. Not only a reliable badge of quality for future guests, the new recognition by Visit England also gives the Country Living St George the status it deserves within the hotel industry.
To gain the accreditation, the hotel had to pass strict criteria and go through a rigorous assessment by mystery guests from Visit England. It was scored on a range of aspects including the standard of the rooms, hospitality, food and service.
Steve Thompson, area general manager for the Country Living St George Hotel, said:
We are delighted to have officially received our four-star status, which confirms that all our hard work in refurbishing the hotel and enhancing the food and service has been worthwhile. Not only is this great news for our British guests, it also opens up the international market to us, as the Visit England accreditation is well recognised around the world as a standard of excellence.
The Country Living St George Hotel opened in July 2018. It is one of two in a unique collaboration between hotel group Coast & Country and Country Living, the magazine brand. Before its relaunch as the Country Living St George Hotel, it underwent an extensive multi-million-pound refurbishment, which was done hand-in-hand with the Country Living team.
The hotel aims to bring the UK’s best-selling home and lifestyle magazine, to life. The experts at Country Living have handpicked every detail; including beautifully designed bedrooms with snug throws, must-read books to curl up with and comfortable sofas in the Drawing Room and Library. The redesign also included the creation of the Dog & Duck Bar and launch of new seasonal British menus for guests and non-residents. Every detail from the front door and the chic bars to the elegant restaurant and welcoming bedrooms, has been carefully considered to create a hotel that combines country charm with modern luxury.
