25 October 2018

Harrogate couple, Steve and Sally Green from Harrogate Tipple have been nominated for a prestigious National Quality Food Award for their Premium Harrogate Gin in the same category as national supermarket giants Aldi. The awards will take place on Thursday 1 November 2018 at the Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s Park Lane.

Sally and Steve launched their Gin business in 2016 and make their Premium Harrogate Gin and Rum with ingredients local to their distillery at the 750 year old Ripley Castle Estate in Harrogate.

The couple are hoping to add to their awards, having already won two Great Taste Awards, two silver awards at the prestigious IWSC (International Wine Spirits Challenge) and a bronze International Award for both their Premium Harrogate Gin and Premium Harrogate Rum.

Steve Green said:

As a small independent local business we’re thrilled to have been nominated for such a prestigious award and we’re delighted to be in such impressive company; Aldi’s Gin is also winning a host of awards at the moment! Whatever happens on the night we’re proud that our Harrogate Gin is growing to become a firm favourite outside of Yorkshire too.

In addition to their Premium Gin, Harrogate Tipple have recently launched two new flavours of their award winning gin; Harrogate Blueberry Gin and Harrogate Gooseberry Gin.

Harrogate Gooseberry Gin is made with gooseberries that are handpicked from bushes at the Ripley Castle Estate. All of Harrogate Tipple’s gin is distilled with delicate local botanicals including lavender and finished exclusively with Harrogate Spring Water. Garden Sorrol Roots help give the Gooseberry Gin its character and unique green hue. and cornflower petals are used to give the Blueberry Harrogate Gin its subtle blue colour.

Harrogate Premium Gin was created by Sally and Steve working alongside their Master Distiller Tom Nichols, who has previously worked for Diageo for over 42 years making world famous gins including Tanquery No 10.
