Banking expert joins Disability Action Yorkshire as Trustee

1 October 2018

A financial expert who has worked for two of the biggest names in the banking world, has become a trustee of a Harrogate charity that works with disabled people.

Sue Papworth, who has worked in the corporate banking departments of NatWest and Barclays before retraining as an investment manager, was voted on to the board of Disability Action Yorkshire at its last executive meeting. It is an unpaid position.

In her new role Mrs Papworth, an Oxford graduate who now works for Cardale Asset Management, will take a particular interest in the monetary aspects of the organisation.

Disability Action Yorkshire Chief Executive Jackie Snape said:

I would like to welcome Sue to our organisation as a trustee. She has a wealth of experience in the financial sector and will be a valuable asset to the charity.

Our trustees play a vital role within our charity and I’m grateful to all of them for their work and the different skills sets they bring.

Sue Papworth said:

Disability Action Yorkshire is highly thought of across the Harrogate district for its work supporting disabled people.

I’m very much looking forward to playing an active role as a trustee and getting to know customers, employees and volunteers alike.

Last month, Disability Action Yorkshire retained two coveted quality accreditations – the Matrix Standard and the Investors in People Standard – for the way in which it manages and supports its people.
