Join the party and celebrate the opening of Henshaws Urban Beach

25 July 2018

The magic and atmosphere of a visit to the beach will be arriving in Knaresborough from Sunday 5th August when Henshaws Urban Beach returns for the summer season.

Henshaws will once again transform their Arts & Crafts Centre into an oasis of family fun from Sunday 5th – Sunday 26th August. Henshaws Urban Beach is free to visit and will be open daily from 10.00am to 4pm.

The Urban Beach has become a fantastic event, held in Knaresborough every August. When the sun is shining it plays host to hundreds of children and parents every day! The atmosphere is magical with live music, face painting and other arts and crafts activities on offer.

Visitors will be able to enjoy treats and refreshments from Henshaws café including wood-fired pizzas , ice creams,  hot food and drink and children’s picnics to enjoy on the sand.

Once again, the beach is hosting daytime and evening events as part of Knaresborough feva 2018. Entertainment on offer includes: live music from Alehouse Rock Band and Edwina Hayes; performance poetry by Sam Illingworth; sets by DJ Rory Hoy and DJ Trev; crafting and storytime with Painting Pots; and the March of the Mermaids.

Maria Dawbarn, centre manager at Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre said:

The beach is the number one thing to do here in Knaresborough during the summer, with activities every day to keep children (and parents) entertained and happy.

The Urban Beach Opening Party starts at 12pm on Sunday 5th August.  Entry to the centre and the Urban Beach is free.

A full event programme, including ticket prices (where applicable) and booking information, is available at henshawsacc.org.uk or from the Arts & Crafts Centre.
