Sun to shine on Bilton Gala this weekend

16 July 2018

The stage is set for the rescheduled Bilton Gala in Harrogate.

After being postponed in May because of poor ground conditions, it will take place at Richard Taylor Primary School on Sunday 22 July.

Heavy rain at the end of April left the school field waterlogged and meant that it could not be used for the event on the early May bank holiday.

Entertainment at this year’s event will include ‘Mr Showtime’ Steve Colley with his superb stunt show and bird of prey displays in the main arena.

Stuart Frost, chairman of the Bilton Gala committee, said:

We can’t wait to welcome everyone through the gates on Sunday. Like our visitors, we were really disappointed that it couldn’t go ahead as planned in May.

We’re so grateful to the community, stallholders and entertainment providers for their support, understanding and patience since then.

If the weather forecast is right, we’ll be able to enjoy some sunshine, so please come and join us for another fantastic Bilton Gala.

Gates open at 11.30am on Sunday, with entry costing £2 per adult and 50p per child under 16 years old.

The money raised from the event is continuing to help good causes through the Bilton Community Fund.

£500 has been donated to local charity Open Country which helps people with disabilities to access the countryside.
