IOPC say investigations remain ongoing into police vehicle collision

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) say that investigations are ongoing into an incident that left three injured.

The collision happened at the junction of Cold Bath Road and Otley in Harrogate at around 10:12pm on Saturday, 5 May 2018.

It involved an unmarked police vehicle that was moving under a blue light and a Vauxhall Corsa.

Two 79-year-old woman in the Corsa received life changing injuries and the serving police officer was also hospitalised.

 

IOPC Spokesperson said:

Our investigation is ongoing.

We are looking at the contact between North Yorkshire Police and those injured in the collision with the unmarked police car.

This includes the actions and decisions of the police driver.

Our thoughts are with those injured as they continue their recovery.
