Bluebird Care Harrogate celebrates new ownership with the #MakeADifference campaign

13 May 2018

For over six years, family-run company Bluebird Care Lincolnshire have been striving to make a difference to home care.

Directors John, Yvonne and Victoria Webber felt compelled to start the company after having a bad experience of care in their own family and decided to try and make a change.

After a opportunity arose to purchase Bluebird Care Harrogate, the Webber family decided to expand into North Yorkshire.

Victoria Webber said:

We make sure our customers have the best care and want to enable the people of Harrogate district to have the same. Our staff treat all our customers how they would want to be treated.

We’ve got around 200 people that we care for and over 100 staff going into people’s homes delivering person centred care to enable them to be as independent as possible whilst living in their own home.

To Celebrate the new ownership Bluebird Care Harrogate is celebrating its fantastic team of home care assistants, and the difference they make in their local communities every day, as part of a nationwide campaign, which launched on Tuesday 8 May 2018.

The #MakeADifference campaign, spearheaded by Bluebird Care, a national provider of home care in the UK, aims to highlight and raise awareness of domiciliary care as a profession, which enables vulnerable people to receive the care and support they require in the comfort of their own homes. The campaign will also showcase why Bluebird Care care assistants are #ProudtoCareAtHome.

With the rapidly increasing ageing population and rising numbers of people living with complex conditions – that require specialist care – for example Dementia, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease, and more people choosing to opt for care at home, this campaign aims to highlight how patient, kind and compassionate individuals can make a real difference working in domiciliary care.

Bluebird Care Harrogate will be hosting interactive events and initiatives throughout May – August to promote the campaign.

Vivienne Stone, Bluebird Care Harrogate’s longest-standing care assistant – of over 6 years, said:

Some people already have the skills to work in home care; patience, caring, and having a laugh. I have a giggle with my customers every day. I know I will never find another job where I am making a real difference.

Bluebird Care Harrogate’s Care Manager said:
