The whole school is deeply saddened by the death of our Headteacher, Neil Hedworth. Neil died during the Easter holidays. He will be greatly missed by his staff and children at school. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

All the children have been informed of this tragic news and have been supported by staff, governors, parents and carers together with emotional support provided by North Yorkshire County Council.

Woodfield is stunned by this news but the tributes and kind messages for Neil is overwhelming.

Following the very sad news regarding Mr Hedworth, the Governing Body, together with the Local Authority, has moved quickly to put plans in place for an interim leadership arrangement.  This arrangement will help with the day to day running of our school during this difficult time.

We have been able to obtain leadership support from a local primary school, Community Primary School. Helen Davey, James Hughes and Karen Daggett will be working as a team with the Woodfield leadership team of Mrs Simmons and Mr Freeman.
