Harrogate valentines steak and chocolate theft

12 March 2018

Police in Harrogate have issued a CCTV image of a man in connection with the theft of more than £50-worth of steak and chocolates from the Co-op.

The incident occurred at the Skipton Road store between 5.15pm and 5.20pm on Wednesday 14 February 2018.

Detailed police enquiries, including forensic examinations at the scene, have been carried out to help identify the suspect.

It is not known if the man took the items to impress a love-interest on Valentine’s Day, but officers are appealing for people to come forward if they recognise the man in the image and possibly recall enjoying a steak dinner and Thorntons chocolates with him on 14 February.

The bespectacled man is described as white, about 5ft 8in tall, slim build with brown or possibly chestnut-coloured hair. He was wearing light-blue jeans, a green and white horizontal striped shirt and a light blue jacket.
