17 August 2017

Ashville College students are celebrating another year of excellent A-Level results with a 100 per cent pass rate and 61 per cent of all grades A*-B.

In this year’s exams, ten per cent of Ashville’s grades were A* or equivalent, continuing the tradition of Ashville students achieving the highest academic results.

Ashville College’s headline figures for 2017 A-Level results are:

  •  100 per cent overall pass rate
  • 32 per cent of all grades were A* – A
  • 1 in 7 students passed with straight A*/As
  • 61 per cent of all grades were A* – B

Of those students who achieved straight A*/A grades, of particular note are Matthew Guest and Giovanni Passerello who both gained four A-Levels at A* or A grades.

The majority of students have now secured places at their first choice universities with over 50 per cent gaining places at the most selective universities.

These include many students going on to prestigious Russell Group universities such as Imperial College London, Newcastle, Birmingham, Liverpool, Leeds and Exeter.

Ashville College Headmaster Mark Lauder said:

Following the significant changes to the A-Level system, we are delighted that Ashville students have continued to achieve at the highest level and to achieve 100 per cent pass rate at a time of exam upheaval is particularly pleasing.

These results reinforce our position as a school that is committed to excellence in academic performance, and impressive individual results demonstrate the hard work and dedication put in by our students over the past two years.

With these results, our students are able to take full advantage of the opportunities ahead of them, and I wish each of them all the best with their future endeavours.

My congratulations go to all students – well done!
