Founder Sally Haslewood, who launched the Harrogate Mumbler awards five years ago said:

This year has got off to a phenomenal start, we have already secured over 1000 votes in the first week. That’s double the number in the first week of 2016. Year on year the Harrogate Mumbler Awards are making a bigger impact on the local parenting community who recognise their importance in such a family friendly town.

Every vote really does count, and makes such a different to each of those businesses and services supported during the campaign. The awards dinner is always a sell-out and it is fantastic to recognise such a wide range of businesses during the night.

Harrogate-born Sally initially created the social network in 2011 consisting of just six local mums. The idea was to expand it into a community to share tips and advice about common parenting issues. The Facebook group grew way beyond her expectations – there are now over 15,000 “Mumblers” in Harrogate alone debating everything from potty training to summer holiday clubs, party inspiration to flexible jobs.

The success of Harrogate Mumbler has seen Sally extend the Mumbler brand to over twenty locations throughout the country including York, Hull & The East Riding, Ripon & Nidderdale, Stockport, Stratford-upon-Avon, Wakefield, South East Leeds, North Leeds, West Leeds, Wharfedale, Ryedale, & Crawley.
