Sewer repairs on Hookstone Road in Harrogate

15 February 2017

Yorkshire Water’s contractors Amey will be working in Hookstone Road near to the junction with Leeds Road from Monday 20 February.

The team from Amey are repairing a section of sewer which is located underground outside number 1 Hookstone Road.

The team will start work at 8am on 20 February and will be onsite for a maximum of seven days. In order to get the repair completed as soon as possible they will be working between 8am and 6pm.

The repair should be complete by 4pm on Saturday 26 February.

During this week the right hand lane of Hookstone Road will be closed (the lane heading towards Leeds Road from Hookstone Road) so the team can make the repair safely.

Traffic will be able to turn right (towards Harrogate) but there might just be a longer queue. The length of the queues will be monitored using the traffic cameras and the lights might be adjusted accordingly.

Yorkshire Water have said they apologise for any traffic delays and advises motorists to consider a different route or allow extra time if they do need to travel to the area.

It’s unlikely that Amey or Yorkshire Water employees will need access to properties and residents and business owners are being asked to be on their guard against bogus callers while the team is working in the area.

Employees of both companies carry identity cards which can be checked by telephoning 0800 1 38 78 78 and they won’t mind waiting while their details are verified.
