Members of Harrogate Borough Council’s Parks & Environmental Services have been presented with their Harrogate MUMbler Award after Valley Gardens came top in this year’s Favourite Children’s Attraction category.

Sally Haslewood, the founder of Harrogate MUMbler, presented the award along with her two children Eva and Tilly, to Head of Parks & Environmental Services Patrick Kilburn, and members of the team who look after the park and play area.

Valley Gardens beat off competition from Billy Bob’s Ice Cream Parlour, Newby Hall and Gardens, RHS Harlow Carr and Stockeld Park to win the award.

Comments left by people voting for Valley Gardens included “It’s perfect in every way” and “An amazing free attraction in Harrogate”.

Receiving the award, Patrick Kilburn said: It’s always great to know that when you work on something and provide services day in and day out that they are really appreciated.

Thank you to everyone who voted for Valley Gardens as their favourite place to take their children on a trip out.
