Handbag thefts in Harrogate nightclub

Harrogate Police the theft of handbags from the Viper Rooms nightclub in the town.

The bags were left unattended and between 12.15am and 2.15am on Sunday 16 October they were taken by thieves.

All personal items were removed from one handbag, including a blue Smythsons purse, a long black stole, an iPhone in a green case, various cards and a photograph with sentimental value. Another handbag, a dark brown Louis Vuitton bag with a leather strap and a chequered square pattern, was also taken.

Police would like to speak to a man and a woman pictured on CCTV in the nightclub, as they may have important information that could assist the investigation.

The Viper Rooms are proactively working to reduce incidents such as this. They offer a free service to look after bags, but they still find some unattended items. Staff also  take all unattended bags to the cloakroom and leave stickers with information on where to find their belongings.
