Mexican night at Bistro on the Park

8 November 2016

The second of Bistro on the Park’s themed evenings took place on Thursday 3 November 2016 and was Mexican Night!

The Bistro on the Park is part of Harrogate College and is where they can showcase their talents to the public.

The tables were adorned with miniature hand carved pumpkins giving the Bistro a lovely warm glow on an Autumnal evening.

The Catering and Hospitality students had been busy preparing the Day of the Dead menu which included a starter of either slow roasted pork tamales, or bean and vegetable tamales, served with sour cream, fresh guacamole and salsa. This was followed by a hearty dish of tender chicken supreme, with coriander rice and a spicy Mexican mole sauce.

The meal was completed by a skeleton made from traditional sweet bread which guests then had to tear up to dunk in a thick and rich hot chocolate along with candied pumpkin. This was all topped off with a delicious non-alcoholic Mojito!

Grace Todd was a guest at the event:

The students were fantastic as usual and the food was absolutely delicious. I’m already looking forward to Indian Night!
