Video: Pateley Bridge put on a warm reception for Best High Street judges

Pateley Bridge has made it to the finals for the Best High Street Award.

Being in the final 3 for the Best Village category, they are up against Kirkby Lonsdale in Cumbria and Langport in Somerset. With 900 entrants overall and being 1 of 27 finalists over all categories, they are already winners.

Yesterday (28 October 2016) saw a tour of the High Street by the judging panel along with with David Kerfoot MBE, DL, Deputy Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire.

The party was received by Keith Tordoff, Chairman of Nidderdale Chamber of Trade. The tour started with a bus tour of the High Street in a classic bus before a walk down the High Street. Pateley Bridge did itself proud with a strong turn out of friendly local retailers.

The winner will be decided 50% from the judging panel and 50% by a public vote, to vote see http://thegreatbritishhighstreet.co.uk/finalist-village

The best village high street will get a share of a prize pot worth £100,000 and expert training from Google’s digital taskforce for shops, bars and restaurants as well as a trip to Twitter UK’s London office to boost their social media skills.
