Appeal following York fatal collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision near Acaster Malbis this morning.

At 11.35am on Sunday 14 August, a yellow MG Midget car was travelling on Intake Lane, towards the village of Acaster Malbis, York, when the driver, who was alone in the vehicle, lost control, left the road to the offside and collided with the hedgerow.

As a result of the collision the driver, a 35-year-old man from the Hovingham area, suffered fatal injuries.
