Byron hamburgers set to open in Harrogate

22 June 2016

Byron is bringing, what they are terming “proper hamburgers” to Harrogate, with the opening of its restaurant on Albert street next week 23 June 2016.

Byron was founded by Tom Byng in 2007 with a business plan of serving hamburgers “like those he remembered fondly from his college days in the States”

They say the burgers are from properly sourced British beef and are cooked pink, keeping them juicy.

In the UK, food regulations have been relaxed to allow restaurants to burgers pink, yet their recommendations remain that home-cooked burgers should be cooked through and not served pink.

Byron’s menu has been created by head chef Fred Smith and includes a range of burgers, sides dishes and desserts along with a specials board.

There will be a selection of craft beers, including the locally brewed Heart & Soul, milkshakes and craft sodas.

The restaurant will create over 30 new jobs for the town, including roles across managerial, kitchen and front of house teams, both full and part time.
