Tour de Yorkshire comes through Knaresborough

29 April 2016

The Tour de Yorkshire came through Knaresborough today (29 April 2016)

Although the district had unseasonable snow overnight that did little to dampen the riders or the crowds that came out in Knaresborough.

The weather was kind too, holding off the rain just long enough to see the peloton pass through the main High street of Knaresborough before heading towards Ripley and Pateley Bridge.

Michael Newby, Director  of  Visit Harrogate said:

It was great to see the crowds out in Knaresborough for the Tour de Yorkshire.

As ever there was great enthusiasm from everybody as the cyclists sped through the town on to what I am sure was an equally enthusiastic welcome in Pateley Bridge.

Even for those people who are not ardent cyclists the event is a fantastic spectacle and continues to show its value in showing off our towns and countryside to a national and international audience.
