Arrests made following Knaresborough cash machine incident

Police were called at about 6.10pm on 29 April 2016, with reports of suspicious activity near a cash machine at the HSBC bank on Knaresborough High Street.

Officers responded immediately, and a white BMW car made off from the scene, colliding with a police vehicle. The car was found abandoned soon after.

Following an extensive search of the area, two people were arrested by police on Harrogate Road, Knaresborough, at 7.20pm. A 24-year-old Ripon man was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery, dangerous driving and failing to stop. A 21-year-old woman from Ripon was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery. Both remain in custody at this time.
