Theft from Marks and Spencer food hall in Harrogate

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to a handbag theft that occurred in Marks and Spencer Foodhall on Leeds Road in Harrogate.

It happened at approximately 11:10am on 15 March and involved a woman dressed in a long black coat wearing a light coloured Hajib. The woman appears of a large build and Arabic in appearance.

While the victim was selecting items from the shelves, the suspect has removed the large red leather handbag from the trolley quickly left the store.

The handbag contained a quantity of cash and various personal items including the victims United Kingdom Passport.

Police are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the identification of the female in the image provided.
