Public order incident at the Victoria Centre in Harrogate

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about a public order incident that occurred inside the Victoria Centre, Harrogate on Friday 11 March 2016.

It happened between 4.30pm and 4.45pm inside the Victoria Centre by the entrance of WH Smith’s. The incident involved one of the security guards at the centre being racially abused.

The security guard subsequently ejected the offender out of the entrance to WH Smith’s that leads out on to Cambridge Street.

Police are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, police are appealing for anyone who was present at the time of the incident to come forward with any information about what they saw/heard.
