South Pacific heading for Harrogate Theatre

1 April 2016

Musical favourite, South Pacific opens in just a few weeks at Harrogate.

Performed by the award winning Ripon Operatic Society will be performing the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic from 20th – 23rd April 2016.

Set on an idyllic South Pacific island during World War II, this wonderful musical intertwines romance, duty, and prejudice to create a story that is humorous, heartbreaking, and thought-provoking.

The musical follows the two love stories of a nurse from Arkansas falling in love with a French plantation owner on the island and a U.S. Lieutenant falling for a beautiful island native.

Well known numbers such as “Some Enchanted Evening”, “There is Nothing Like a Dame” and “I’m Gonna Wash that Man Right Outa My Hair” all help bring the story to life.

Ripon Operatics, who celebrated their 75th anniversary last year, are renowned for their high quality performances showcasing award winning choreography and a wealth of talented cast members.

Tickets are priced from £12-£18 and are now on sale at Harrogate Theatre Box Office on 01423 520116 and at www.harrogatetheatre.co.uk.

Some concessions and group discounts are also available.

Evening performances start at 7.30pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
