The Provenance Inns and Hotels group has Best Accommodation Operator of the Year at the national Morning Advertiser’s Publican Awards held in London.

The awards, which showcase companies delivering excellence in the hospitality sector, commended the group as a forward-thinking company with outstanding financial results, thoughtful improvements to its sites and an excellent food offer.

Judges were especially impressed by the standard of Provenance Inns’ rooms – praising the high-quality luxurious accommodation which sets the bar for the rest of the industry.

Provenance Inns and Hotels offers 5-star rated bedrooms at five of its eight Yorkshire locations:

  • Carpenters Arms in Felixkirk near Thirsk,
  • Durham Ox in Crayke,

  • West Acre Lodge in Boltby

The group enjoys healthy average occupancy rates of 80% across the 58 stylish bedrooms at its countryside inns, boutique townhouse hotel and luxury private lodge.

Ed Bedlington, head judge and editor of the Publican’s Morning Advertiser which organises the awards said:

This is an industry that is tough and challenging but we have operators who are rising to that challenge and are an example both to the hospitality sector and the wider business community.

Provenance Inns and Hotels is setting standards when it comes to accommodation and impressed judges across the board.

It’s emphasis on adding glamour while retaining heritage and history is a nice touch, this is definitely a business to watch for the future.

Michael Ibbotson, managing director of Provenance Inns said:

We are all absolutely delighted to have received independent national recognition for our five star bedroom facilities, it’s hugely exciting and rewarding to win, especially on a national stage. These awards truly are a chance for us to shout about the great work being done every day by our staff.
