Estate agency’s new recruit swaps Dubai for Harrogate

20 February 2016

Linley & Simpson has strengthened its residential sales team with the appointment of a new recruit who boasts more than 25 years’ experience of helping people move home.

Carol Newbury has returned to her roots as Valuation Manager at the estate agency’s Wetherby office, after swapping the sun, sea and sand of Dubai for Yorkshire.

While working in the United Arab Emirates, she became the first staff member in her company to pass the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) qualifications with a 100 per cent success rate.

And she was also the first in her firm to clinch the initial sale in 2015 of a home on The Palm Jumeirah – the eye-catching archipelago that has become a byword for luxury as one of the most photographed destinations in the world and home to the likes of David Beckham and Brad Pitt.

She has now returned to Yorkshire to take up the new position with Linley and Simpson, as she starts her 27th year working in the property sector in the county.

Linley & Simpson branched out into house sales two years ago after focusing on lettings since launching in 1997 – and Carol is looking forward to drawing upon her experience to build on the momentum created by the new venture.

Carol Newbury said:

I have helped thousands of people move homes in Yorkshire throughout my working life. And, after a spell working in the UAE, I’m glad to be back to my home county.

Head of Residential Sales at Linley & Simpson, Mark Christopher, said:

The experience that Carol brings with her adds an extra dimension to our team in Wetherby – at the heart of the so called ‘golden triangle’ of the most popular places to live.

Her inside-track on the Yorkshire property market will be a tremendous asset to helping both buyers and sellers as we approach what is traditionally one the busiest periods of the year.
