Ice cream expo in Harrogate set to break records

16 February 2016

The Ice Cream Expo 2016 is on course to break all records thanks to the increasing success of the UK’s £1bn ice cream industry.

Strong sales over the last three summers have raised confidence levels with an increasing number of companies looking to expand their market share.

Now the trade association for the ice cream industry – The Ice Cream Alliance – is predicting record business for its 2016 Expo, which will take place at the Yorkshire Event Centre in Harrogate.

Ice Cream Alliance Chief Executive Zelica Carr said:

The industry has enjoyed excellent trading conditions for the last few years and that has boosted confidence with the result that we are on course to break all records at the 2016 Expo.

There is tremendous interest from well established companies but also many new ones looking to break into the ice cream sector.

They can see that there are many opportunities for them both directly in the supply of ice cream products and ingredients but also in supporting services such as refrigeration, uniforms, cleaning materials, insurance and fixtures and fittings for parlours, shops and ice cream vans.

Feedback from exhibitors at Expo 2015 revealed that sales had been excellent on the back of increased visitor numbers and all the signs are that 2016 will be even better.

The three day Ice Cream Expo is the only one of its kind in the UK and will be held on 16-18 of February 2016 at the Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate.
