A new online platform is hoping to change the way artists share their work and search for other artists and creative to collaborate with.
Fruit Tank is a concept developed by Tom Moulson, a former student at St John Fisher High School in Harrogate, who believes it will offer a new dimension to artists who want to showcase their work alongside other undiscovered talent.
He is hoping that by working with colleges and arts groups he can encourage contributions.
Tom, aged 20, who now works as a filmmaker, scriptwriter and author, said:
Fruit Tank will be an open platform for all types of art and creativity, no matter how experimental.
In time I would like to bring together groups of artists to create compilation playlists for music download sites, joint exhibitions for artists and photographers and anthologies of written work by various contributors.
Tom said he was inspired to create the site after experiencing the challenges of showcasing his own work as an unknown artist.
Tom added:
What sets Fruit Tank apart is its diversity.
There are plenty of websites showcasing music or art or writing but it’s hard to find somewhere that brings all those skills together in one place.
As well as providing inspiration across a range of mediums, I hope Fruit Tank will open doors for artists who want to collaborate with others by allowing them to share work and ideas, discuss projects and support each other.
