Charity shop window competition – Soroptimist Cup won by Oxfam Boroughbridge

8 December 2015

Harrogate and District Soroptimist’s are delighted to announce the winners of the newly launched Charity Shop Window Competition. This year the Club widened their horizons to include Charity Shops  in Knaresborough with Starbeck, Ripon with Boroughbridge and Wetherby as well as Harrogate town centre.

The Soroptimist initiated the Harrogate Shop window competition in 2004 as part of their Light up Harrogate campaign and have worked with Harrogate at Christmas over the last five years to run the main competition. The Shop window competition is one of the ways the Club gives service to the community. Concentrating on the Charity Shops reflects the Club’s vision to improve the lives of women and children. Many members live outside Harrogate and know their local communities. This is a way of celebrating the important role charity shops and the volunteers who help run them play in improving the lives of people locally, nationally and internationally.
