Police want to speak to people who assisted at scene of serious Thirsk crash

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses and those that assisted at the scene of a serious collision at Carlton Miniott near Thirsk.

  • 5.30pm on Wednesday 11 November 2015
  • A61 between the junction to Sandhutton Village and Carlton Lodge

A motorcyclist riding a blue Yamaha motorcycle from the direction of Busby Stoop was in collision with a silver Audi Q5 travelling in the opposite direction.

The motorcyclist, a 30-year-old local man, was taken to James Cook Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

The driver of the Audi, a 57-year-old woman, also from the Thirsk area was uninjured.

Police are appealing for witnesses and in particular want to speak to a number of people who stopped at the scene of the crash but left before the police arrived.
