Investiture as serving sister for St John’s first aider

Sue Clarke has been invested as a serving sister in the most venerable order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem.

The investiture took place in the Priory church of St John, Clerkenwall, on 20 October 2015 by the Prior, Rodney Green

It was awarded to Sue for her contribution to the work of St John Ambulance as a first aid volunteer, trainer and assessor.

Her Majesty, the Queen, the sovereign Head of the Order, sanctioned Sue’s admission to the order.

Sue has been a member of St Johns Ambulance since March 2002 when she started as a parent helper, with 2 of her children joined the youth section and also trained to become adult first aiding members).

Sue then trained and joined the local Starbeck and Knaresborough unit and now holds he most advanced first aider, trainer and assessor in the North East Area.   Sue’s original training in 1983 was a a neonatal intensive care staff nurse until she left to raise her children.

Sue has worked at Woodlands Day Nursery, part of the Funcare group, since 2001 and is a valued member of staff, and part of our  training department.

Dee Sturges, Director of Early Years at Funcare Ltd, said:

Sue always shares good practice and up to date knowledge with the team. ​
