The guest speaker for the evening was former Gurkha, Major Lil Gurung MBE. Major Lil Gurung was accompanied on the night by his brother Deu Gurung, and fellow member of the Rotary Club of the Himalayan Gurkhas, Narayan Gurung (Managing Director of Cheerful Holiday Ltd) and his wife Chandra. All the Nepalese contingent were in traditional dress and handed out welcome scarves to all the guests as they entered the room.

Andy Morrison, Director of Andisa IT Consultants and President Elect of Rotary Club of Harrogate Brigantes said:

I’d like to say a big thank you to the small team from Rotary club of Harrogate Brigantes who organised the dinner dance on Saturday night and also to all of the sponsors who made it possible. I’m really proud to have been a part of the team.

By working with 20 local businesses, everything from the meals on the night to raffle and auction prizes were provided, ensuring that all of the £10,000 proceeds can go directly to the people in need. It’s made me realise just how lucky I am to be a business owner within the Harrogate business community. We have a special place!

When many are still working to recover from recession this partnership is something that Harrogate can be proud of.

Thank you once again!
