50th business development breakfast for DSC

4 September 2015

Harrogate accountancy firm DSC will host its 50th Business Development Breakfast this month, a decade after first launching the initiative as a way of bringing local businesses together.

The free quarterly breakfast events have provided regular networking for the town’s firms and delivered advice on a wide range of topics since they were first held in 2005.

The 50th breakfast will offer tips on creating the perfect business plan and will include a short presentation by NatWest bank on what banks look for in a business plan.

Director John Garbutt said he felt the topic was the perfect choice to mark the event’s 10th anniversary.

John said:

Business planning is fundamental to the success of any company and is a topic that is certain to generate plenty of interest and discussion.

As a firm we focus heavily on helping our clients with forward planning and putting those plans into action and this will give us an opportunity to share expertise with a wider audience.

With a history spanning over 50 years, DSC has expanded in recent years and now has 20 staff, including three directors, based at its premises at Tattersall House on East Parade.

John said:

We are looking forward to seeing old friends and new faces as we mark the 10th anniversary of our Business Development Breakfasts.

The format is very informal and over the years we have seen excellent relationships develop.

It’s a long time since our first event but the philosophy remains the same as always – to create a sense of community amongst Harrogate businesses and provide a forum for sharing ideas and best practice.

Registrations for the anniversary breakfast have been high and DSC has decided to hold two duplicate events to enable more people to attend. The free seminars will take place on Friday 11 September 2015 at 8am and Friday 18 September 2015 at 9am, at The Old Swan Hotel, Harrogate.

To book a free place please email your preferred date to info@dscca.com or call 01423 560547.
