Merger creates leading light in legal services

5 August 2015

Respected Harrogate law firm Barber Titleys is merging with a leading West Yorkshire legal practice with offices in Leeds, Bradford and Ilkley, to create a leading light in legal services.

Barber Titleys, which employs a team of 25 has an unrivalled reputation for providing property, planning and personal legal advice to clients in Harrogate and North Yorkshire and operates from offices on North Park Road. It is merging with LCF Law’s 95 strong team, who specialise in corporate, property, dispute resolution and personal law. The company will practice in Harrogate as LCF Barber Titleys from 1 October 2015.

Richard Davis from Barber Titleys said:

Barber Titleys and LCF Law have complementary services and a common ethos. The merger will further enhance our existing offering, and clients will also be able to benefit from a broader spectrum of commercial legal services and expertise as a result.

LCF Law’s managing partner Simon Stell said:

We know the partners and many of Barber Titleys’s staff well, and have been aware of their first rate services and enviable reputation throughout Harrogate and beyond for a long time. This is a fantastic opportunity for LCF Law to expand our services into North Yorkshire. The merger of the two firms will strengthen both businesses and increase the skills, expertise and the range of legal services available to all of the respective firms’ clients.

The legal services market has changed over recent years, and as it continues to consolidate, more and more firms are joining forces to strengthen and enhance the services on offer to clients.

Richard added:

It’s a very exciting time for Barber Titleys and LCF Law, as the merger will enable our entire teams to benefit from each other’s experience and specialisms, whilst also giving our loyal clients access to a wide range of accessible, affordable legal services and jargon-free advice.”

Barber Titleys was created in 1997 by the merger of former firms Barber Robinson, which was established in 1880, and Titleys Paver-Crow and Fedden, which was established in 1883. The firm has enjoyed continued sustained growth and considerable expansion over recent years. Barber Titleys employs 15 legal experts from its Harrogate office which is based on North Park Road.

LCF Law was established 26 years ago and recently underwent a major re-brand and relocation of its Bradford headquarters into an 11,000 square foot modern office space at One St James Business Park. With further expansion of its commercial and property legal services in Leeds in 2015, LCF Law reported steady growth in staff numbers and a 15% increase in turnover across all three of offices over the last year. LCF Law is a Limited company and an Alternative Business Structure (ABS).
