Manslaughter charge after Harrogate Wetherspoons assault victim dies

A 44-year-old man from Harrogate has been charged with manslaughter after a man died in hospital almost three week after an incident in a pub beer garden.

The suspect was re-arrested on Tuesday (25 November) and later charged with manslaughter following the death of Paul Colin Morrison, 51, from Burton Leonard, Harrogate, who passed away at Harrogate District Hospital on Thursday last week.

He has been bailed with conditions to appear at Harrogate Magistrates’ Court on 16 December 2014, 9.30am, court.

The incident occurred at the rear of the Wetherspoons Royal Baths pub on Parliament Street at about 7.30pm on Saturday 1 November 2014.

  1. How can a man who has done this to a family be let go on bail!!! It is disgusting how this criminal system works this man should be locked up not enjoying his freedom absolute disgusting!! There is people gettin sent to prison for lesser things yet something as serious as this results in bail!! Should be ashamed of this country and the people we pay to uphold the law
