Harrogate social care charity The Avalon Group have been announced as finalists in three categories of the prestigious Great British Care Awards, which take place on 31 October 2014 in York.

The awards, which recognise best practice and extraordinary effort across the care industry see Avalon short-listed as Care Employer of the Year, Registered Homecare Manager of the year and in the category of Putting People First.

Celebrating 20 years of providing high quality community support, as well as tailored dementia support and Shared Lives services, Avalon are hoping to sweep the board at the event, which takes place at the National Railway Museum.

Avalon CEO Larry Hollando said: We are elated beyond words to have been nominated, and be finalists in such a fantastic awards ceremony. Avalon staff and customers consider themselves part of a family, and so to be recognised in this way will only serve to make that bond even stronger.
