Homemade French cuisine – served in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside

Professional French chef Yves Quemerais is throwing open the doors of his Yorkshire cottage to welcome diners for an intimate, gastronomic experience.

He has opened a country kitchen after recently moving to the picturesque village of Spofforth, near Harrogate. Groups of up to eight people can enjoy a memorable and exclusive, gourmet lunch or dinner around the cottage’s dining room table.

Yves and wife Anne crossed the channel to make their home in Yorkshire after falling in love with ‘God’s own county’ during holidays.

Yves set up French Chef at Home to create authentic French cuisine at people’s homes for special occasions, corporate events or just a luxury night in. While he can cater externally for up to 50 people, those visiting the cottage itself will experience more intimate dining.

Yves has been unpacking his extensive kitchenware ready to invite diners into his home in the run-up to Christmas.

Yves said: We will create a bespoke menu for any special occasion, whether it’s an anniversary, birthday or simply to reward staff or clients.

And with Christmas coming up soon, people can visit us for their Christmas meal. We are even open for bookings on Christmas Day.

To make the occasion completely stress-free, Yves and Anne are offering a chauffeur service so that guests can enjoy the full selection of French wines.

Yves trained under acclaimed chef Alain Ducasse and has more than 25 years’ experience in his home country. His aim is to bring a French culinary experience to food-lovers’ homes and celebratory events by combining the traditional gourmet flavours of France with seasonal fresh Yorkshire produce.
