Man arrested in connection with Harrogate Wetherspoons pub assault

Police investigating a serious assault in the beer garden of a Harrogate pub have today (Monday 3 November 2014) arrested a 44-year-old local man.

The incident happened at Wetherspoons Royal Baths pub on Parliament Street at about 7.30pm on Saturday (1 November 2014)

A 51-year-old man from Harrogate suffered a serious head injury. He remains in a critical condition at Harrogate District Hospital.

A 43-year-old man from the York area also suffered facial injuries which required hospital treatment.

Following extensive police enquiries, a 44-year-old man from Harrogate was arrested in connection with the investigation this morning. He is currently being questioned in custody.
